About Buddha Ratana Kesar Rice

Read Description

Yes — I checked it. The correct spelling is Pampore, not “Pampor.” Pampore, Kashmir, is widely known as the “Saffron Town” of Kashmir and is a major saffron-growing region. (Incredible India)

For your premium product description, I’d phrase it as “Premium Kashmiri Saffron sourced from Pampore, Kashmir” rather than simply saying “from Pampore,” because it sounds more authentic and premium.

Here is the updated section:

Buddha Ratana Kesar Rice | Buddha Rice Infused with Pampore Kashmiri Saffron • Luxury Heritage Rice

Experience the extraordinary elegance of Buddha Ratana Kesar Rice, an exclusive luxury rice crafted from our renowned GI-Tagged Kalanamak Rice (Buddha Rice) and delicately infused with premium Kashmiri Saffron sourced from Pampore, Kashmir.

Known as the Saffron Town of Kashmir, Pampore is renowned for its traditional saffron cultivation.

Enhanced with real saffron petals, this exquisite creation brings together two of India's treasured ingredients—the heritage of Buddha Rice and the delicate luxury of Kashmiri Kesar.

The naturally aromatic character of Kalanamak Rice blends harmoniously with the rich fragrance, delicate floral notes and naturally beautiful golden hue of authentic Kashmiri saffron. As it cooks, the grains become soft, fluffy and beautifully aromatic, allowing the subtle essence of saffron to complement the distinctive character of Buddha Rice.

Carefully crafted for discerning food lovers, Buddha Ratana Kesar Rice is perfect for festive feasts, royal biryanis, aromatic pulao, special occasions and gourmet dining. It can also be enjoyed with rich curries, dry fruits, nuts and traditional Indian dishes.

Every batch is expertly blended, hygienically packed and made without artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, reflecting Buddha Ratana's commitment to purity, authenticity, craftsmanship and premium quality.

🌸 Premium Pampore Kashmiri Saffron

The delicate saffron petals are carefully blended with heritage Kalanamak Rice to create a naturally fragrant and luxurious rice experience. During cooking, the saffron releases its characteristic floral aroma and beautiful golden colour, adding an elegant touch to every grain.

🍚 Simple Pressure Cooker Cooking

No soaking required. Just wash, cook and enjoy.

1. Wash
Take the desired quantity of Buddha Ratana Kesar Rice and wash it gently once or twice with clean water.

2. Add Water
Use approximately 1 part rice to 1½ parts water.

Example:
1 cup rice → 1½ cups water

3. Pressure Cook
Close the pressure cooker securely and cook on high flame.

Allow the cooker to reach the first whistle, then continue cooking until the second whistle is just about to release.

4. Turn Off the Flame
Turn off the gas stove just before the second whistle blows.

Do not immediately release the pressure. Allow the cooker to naturally release its pressure and let the rice finish cooking in the steam trapped inside.

5. Open & Serve
Once the pressure has released naturally, carefully open the cooker and gently fluff the rice.

Serve hot and enjoy the delicate aroma and luxurious character of Pampore Kesar Rice.

👨🍳 Cooking Tip

Do not release the pressure immediately after turning off the flame. Allowing the rice to finish cooking in the residual steam helps achieve a soft, fluffy texture while allowing the saffron aroma to develop beautifully.

Kalanamak is a heritage, short-grain variety grown specifically in the Himalayan Terai. Unlike Basmati, it has a distinct dark tip, a nuttier flavour, and a softer texture. It is naturally aged and minimally processed to preserve its unique nutritional profile.
Yes, Kalanamak is known for having a lower Glycemic Index (GI) compared to many standard white rice varieties. This means it digests slower, helping to prevent sudden spikes in blood sugar levels.
A Geographical Indication (GI) tag ensures that the rice is authentically sourced from its native region (Siddharthnagar and surrounding districts in UP). It guarantees you are getting the genuine heritage grain, not a hybrid grown elsewhere.
Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak it for 20-30 minutes before cooking. Use a water-to-rice ratio of about 2:1. Cook on a low simmer until the water is absorbed, then let it rest covered for 5 minutes for the perfect fluffy texture.
Store the rice in an airtight container in a cool, dry, and dark place. Kept away from moisture and direct sunlight, our Kalanamak rice easily maintains its aroma and quality for up to 12 months.
