🍚 How to Cook Buddha Ratana Black Rice
Ingredients:
-
1 cup Buddha Ratana Black Rice
-
2½–3 cups water
-
Salt, to taste
-
1 tsp ghee or oil, optional
Method:
-
Rinse the Rice
Wash the Black Rice 2–3 times with clean water. -
Soak
Soak for approximately 4–6 hours or overnight for more even cooking and a softer texture. Drain before cooking. -
Cook
Add the soaked rice and 2½–3 cups fresh water to a saucepan. Add salt if desired. -
Simmer
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for approximately 25–35 minutes, or until the grains are tender. -
Rest & Serve
Turn off the heat and let the rice rest covered for 5–10 minutes. Fluff gently before serving.
💡 Rice Cooking Tip
Soaking is recommended for Black Rice as it helps reduce cooking time and promotes more even hydration. The grains naturally retain a firmer, pleasantly chewy texture even after cooking.
