Sonachur variety of rice is most expensive in my small knowledge. This is locally grown in Sasaram – Bhabua and Shahabad region of Bihar. Most famous Miller of north pack this good smelling rice to sell as basmati. I have seen this myself being one in Nokha, Sasaram, Nasariganj, Babhua, Dehri, Arrah, Buxar ,Karahgar and adjoining areas Mills. Old rice is good for pulav making and fresh is for Kheer.
